my coworker asked why i never talk about my personal life at work and i said "because i need something that's just mine" and now she acts like i insulted her. am i allowed to have boundaries or is that the new selfish?

nah you're good, some people can't tell the difference between a boundary and a rejection and that's their problem to work through
